Over the coming weeks, months perhaps, we here at TransitMiami will be working hard to reshape and rework the website with new content and a new message. We plan on using your feedback to shape the site in a new direction and by bringing you more of the type of content you’d like to see. We’d like to hear from you for some insight on what we can do to make this site better for you, our readers. Leave us a message, give us a grade on the left sidebar, or email us with your more personal thoughts (movemiami@gmail.com)…

We are also working on finally forging some relationships with the agencies which matter most in Miami. My e-mails to MDT director Harpal Kapoor have thus far fallen on deaf ears (blind eyes, perhaps?) We’d like to establish ourselves as a bigger voice in the community for transit/planning advocacy and plan on doing so with or without the help of the agencies responsible for much of our planning problems thus far (FDOT, MPO, MDT, BCT, etc…)

I wonder if all your readers that support a given cause all sent Mr. Kapoor emails if that would have an impact. You probably have a large readership, and if a handful were to contact commissioners and Mr. Kapoor it may have a bigger impact.
I for one would be happy to contact them and let the know my thoughts on a given issue.

Just the other day, I was noticing how much wasted space your site has above the fold.

In my opinion, the TransitMiami cityscape logo could be 50% smaller.

I feel your site would be easier to browse if the content was displayed higher up the page.

As for the type of content, I like the stories you’re publishing here. Keep up the good work!

Gus, just out of curiosity what browser are you using?

  4. Gus Moore says:

Gabriel, I’m using FireFox. I have a 17″ monitor set to 1024 by 768 pixels.

When viewing your site, the header (TransitMiami citysacepe logo) takes up just a little more than half of my screen. On the bottom, it cuts off just after the “FeedBurner” link.

Would you like me to email you a screen shot?

I agree, the header is slightly too large. The rest (content) is great. Good work!

Agreed, on Firefox as well as on IE, same effect. It’s a nice logo though, but maybe if the entire image itself was streamlined…

  7. Gabriel J. Lopez-Bernal says:

Yeah Please do…I’d really appreciate it…it seems to be the main concern so far….

It appears you have plenty of negative space to shave off the bottom and top of the image without changing its aspect ratio - in the Firefox View. Love the graphic and title, just lose the negative space.
