As we mentioned back in January, it seems B-cycle is coming to Miami Beach. If you peruse their site, you will find that they are actively lobbying other cities to accept their low-cost, high benefit system of public transportation. We called attention to this months back, and it seems many of you voted for your own city in South Florida. Let this post serve as a reminder to let B-Cycle know you and your city are interested in their services.

I spoke with a representative from the company who is behind B-cycle, and they were hopeful that a 500 bike system could be in place by late summer/early fall. They were moving through the political approval process, so who knows if that or the economy will slow them down. I hope not.

This is for an area without theft, vandalism or bad drug habits right? Don’t get me wrong - I love it, but I can see B-cycle becoming the new way cops use to spot dealers at 3 am in Kendall

I don’t see the bicycle as “the engine of American prosperity”.
People would likely go back to horses if cars were gone. These bikes will be on a freighter headed for Haiti in no time at all. It’s a risky investment and should be completely funded with private money.
